Custom Domino Pendants

Introducing my new custom domino pendants featuring your pet's likeness in a modern and innovative way. These unique and special keepsakes feature my original artwork and illustrations, straight from the art tablet of yours truly, Heather LeMay.

These unique pendants are a wonderful statement and expressive way to broadcast or immortalize your faithful friend; new or old, here or no longer living. With a style that is vivid, humourous, bold and fun these miniature treasures are a great way to proclaim your spoiled pet to the world.

As with my original commissioned paintings, I firmly believe that if a pet is no longer with us they should be remembered by the happy times. What better way then to keep a companion close to your heart?.

What makes these funky necklaces so unusual is the fact that they're actually made from real dominos, signed on the reverse and dotted side. Each are individually handcrafted and come self initialed, coated with high gloss and non-yellowing polyurethane for protection. Every pendant displays a piece of original, one of a kind artwork of your dog, cat or exotic pet with a guarantee it will be the only one out there in the world.

After the overwhelming responce I received from creating my standard non-limited pendants sold at my shop, I finally decided to take commissions and give pet owners an opportunity to obtain an incomparable piece that no one else will have.

Mediums
My pendants are illustrated digitally using a special art tablet that replicates real, commonly used media such as airbrush or acrylics. Because the pendants are a smaller size, this enables me to incorperate fine detail that could not normally be done otherwise. It also gives a smooth, vivid and bright appearance that adds life and dimension to the domino. As the artist I retain all copy and reproduction rights to my artwork, although you will receive and own the only and original pendant.

My domino pendants measure 2"x1" in. They are 1/4" inch thick and are perfectly comfortable to wear without being too bulky or heavy. All dots on the reverse side are traditional ebony. Unfortunately the numbers of dots on the reverse side are luck of the draw and I am unable to forfill specific requests for certain numbers or combinations.

All pendants arrive with chain. Upright pendants arrive suspended from a decorative sterling silver bail. Lengthwise pendants arrive with two smaller bails on either end. Chain choices include an interesting kidney-shape which adds quirk and flavour to the piece or a delicate cable chain for a more formal look. All chain is silver plated and is available in sizes 18" and 20" or your request.

Each necklace also arrives in Kayann Works signature giftbox, tied with decorative ribbon and perfect to present to family or friends. A certificate of authenticity is included.

Completion
Turnaround time is typically 7 business days per pendant or less, depending on complexity. This figure excludes weekends and holidays. My pendants are completed on a first come first serve basis. If ordering for a specific date such as a birthday or holiday, please order at least 3 - 4 weeks in advance.

Your Photographs
If you have photographs if your pets you are free to send them in digitally by email, or by snail mail (although digital is preferred). In order to provide the best pendant-capable photos of your pet, please take a look at my pet photography tips for useful tidbits. Also, please keep in mind that domino pendants are small and will only showcase so much artwork. Ideal shots are close up, head or chest-up/bust photographs of pets. Full bodied animals are often too small to properly feature on a domino. If you are unsure which photograph would make the best pendant, feel free to contact me. I'd love to work with you and give you my personal opinion as an artist. By submitting any photographs, you are in agreement that if you are not the original photographer you have been given prior permission to let me use the photographs as general reference for your pet portrait commission. All photographs will be returned within shipment of the completed necklace.

Payment
I require a non-refundable payment in full when I accept your commission, due prior to beginning the piece. After completion I will email you a digital photograph of the illustration, where you will have the opportunity to suggest minor changes. Once changes are made, if any, I will prepare your item for shipping. Shipping charges will be additional, $5 for USPS Priority within the US. Please contact me for quotes regarding non-Continental US orders. All packages are insured by the post office. Payment can be made by Paypal or by money order, which is the only methods I accept at this time. With Paypal it's easy to send money to a variety of recipients without sharing your financial information. Invoice and information will be sent to you at the time of your order.
